The next chapter in car innovation
Anvil: Your Unique Car, Handcrafted by Robots
About Anvil
Anvil, by Machina Labs, is a design-to-order automotive platform currently based on the Ford F-150 Lightning. Our groundbreaking manufacturing technology lets you design and drive a car tailored to your unique design preferences.
The tech behind Anvil, called Roboforming, is used to build fighter jets, spacecraft, submarines, and more.
We realized this approach to re-thinking manufacturing could change one of the most beloved consumer products: cars.
So we're opening up access for all. Now you can pilot your own custom designed vehicle at production-vehicle prices.
Say hello to

body design combinations
The first Anvil is built on the Ford F 150 Lightning, but all ICE and electric cars can be customized.

We are aiming for a $130K price point for a uniquely designed truck based on the F150 Lightning
We are starting with the Ford F150 Lightning base but the Anvil system is flexible to expand to other makes and models.
Yes! We are starting with designs on top of the Ford F150 Lightening. You'll get to tweak body designs, optionally add personalization (like logos), purchase the truck and then it goes into manufacturing and assembly on one of the Machina Labs Roboforming systems in Los Angeles.
You can order a replacement panel or request a completely new design from us.
We’re currently offering customizations exclusively on new F150 Lightning, with plans to extend this service to existing trucks in the future.
Manufacturing and assembly last only a few weeks, but at launch we expect to have a queue of orders so lead time depends on when you sign up. By signing up for email updates on our roadmap, you're getting access to the first batch of reservations.
The panels are made from the same material as the car's original ones. For the F150 Lightning, that means automotive-grade aluminum.
The first deliveries start in 2025. We'll begin taking reservations later in 2024, prioritizing those who have been along for the ride via our roadmap email updates.
Production cars are made with traditional manufacturing techniques that leave no room for change or flexibility. Only the most wealthy car buyers could afford customization, as it requires skilled hand labor... until now. Roboforming, a technology from the aerospace world, replaces those traditional techniques with robotics and AI, delivering the efficiency of production manufacturing but infinite ability to customize.

“When we started Machina Labs, we wanted to radically increase access to manufacturing. We're excited to bring that access to a mass audience through car making. We want to make full customization as easy as adding a bumper sticker.”
